Spiritual Dynamism

We are called and committed to be a vibrant, spiritually alive congregation, enthusiastically sharing with our community by:
bulletProviding opportunities for spiritual growth
bulletIncluding all communities inside and outside our church, all cultures and ages
bulletIdentifying and utilizing all spiritual gifts and talents of our congregation
bulletInvolving all members leading to spiritual growth and development of all

Worship and Praise

We are called and committed to inspire and spiritually engage people of diverse backgrounds and interests, bringing us closer to God by:
bulletProviding worship services that are interesting to - and inclusive of - children and adults
bulletBeing open to new expressions within our Presbyterian framework
bulletIncluding traditional and contemporary music in services with the options of separate and blended liturgy
bulletBeing open to services other than on Sunday
bulletOffering special services, among them an evening Christmas Joy Gift service, Ash Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday services
bulletOffering occasional interfaith services
bulletShowing a more worshipful attitude at the beginning and end of Sunday services
bulletProviding music for meditation at the beginning and end of services

Nurture and Care

We are called to nurture and care for each other in our church and our community in times of illness, loss, transitions, and joys. We will continue to provide and build programs that support our call, including:
 
bulletStephen Ministry program training and development
bulletParish Nurse program
bulletDeacon's Care List
bulletSupport groups
bulletLunch Bunch
bulletPrayer Chain
bulletPresbyterian Women
bulletPresbyterian Men
bulletNew member sponsor program

As part of our commitment to nurture and care, we are called to reach out to help meet the spiritual, physical, and educational needs of others in our local and global community. Toward that end, we will:
 
bulletCreate an environment in which people know they are valued and needed
bulletBe constantly aware of changing community needs
bulletInvolve all ages in hands-on forms of service
bulletDevelop a small group ministry, including support groups and common interest groups
bulletEstablish mission budget as a high priority
bulletSponsor cultural and educational programs
bulletCreate opportunities for families to be involved
bulletOffer Bible studies in the community, at nursing homes and other residential care facilities

Evangelism

We are called to share our faith by:
bulletSpreading the Word
bulletWelcoming everyone
bulletActively presenting our church throughout the community as a fellowship of Christ's people
bulletFollowing through with visitors and prospective members
bulletEncouraging and supporting the involvement of the less active members of our congregation

As part of our mission of Evangelism, we are called to be a point of light for the youth in the church and the community. We will demonstrate our commitment through:
bulletInvolving youth in all programs, making them an integral and valued part of the congregation
bulletSupporting the youth, so they feel excited and challenged by the entire congregation
bulletOffering youth social activities combined with service and mission
bulletExtending youth involvement to include youth from outside our congregation
bulletUtilizing trained, dedicated youth and family leaders
bulletProviding expanded music programs that are more inter generational and instrumental

Tithing

We are called to give regularly and proportionally the first fruits of everything - time, talents, and money - in support of God's call to our vision and mission. We will demonstrate our commitment by:
bulletEducating ourselves on the meaning of the Biblical tithe through literature, worship, and church school classes for all ages
bulletConducting a concerted campaign of how our tithes are used and how tithing helps, including a yearly tithing theme, regular updates, and witness of positive experiences of tithing
bulletFollowing up promptly on new member questionnaires and time and talent surveys

Education

We are called to help all grow in faith, to know the Bible, to understand the person and mission of Jesus Christ, and to respond as disciples:
bulletOpportunities for families to learn together
bulletShort-term adult Bible studies
bulletIssue focused Bible studies
bulletParticipation in Bible studies with other congregations
bulletSeasonal Bible studies (Advent, Lent, etc.)
bulletInvolving seniors in children's education and mentoring programs
bulletGuest speakers
bulletMore opportunities for - and therefore greater expectation of - senior high school students

Communication

We are called to communicate effectively and creatively to involve everyone in the congregation, and to ensure that:
bulletMembers of the congregation are well informed
bulletPeople know where to find information
bulletMembers are educated on communication processes

Church Facilities

We are called to preserve our special historic site while still providing a facility to meet the needs of our growing congregation and community. Toward that end, we will:
bulletCall forth the funds for short-term and long-term needs
bulletTailor facility plans to meet changing needs that have emerged from the Re-vision process
bulletReassess the church building's strengths and weaknesses, determine priorities, and then act on these priorities
bulletRemove physical barriers to accessibility
